We’ll explain our approach to green roofs and work with you to produce the optimum design for you, your building, and its local environment

What we’ll need to find out

  • What kinds of plants do you want to see growing?
  • What pollinators are there in your area, and which of their food sources will grow on a green roof?
  • How much substrate (growing medium) do those plants need?
  • Can the structure support it or will it need strengthening?
  • What type of waterproofing is suitable and what warranty is required?
  • If you’re considering asking someone else to do the waterproofing, does their warranty cover our green roof?
  • How much of the carpentry and building do you want us to do?
  • How many and what type of skylights and protrusions (e.g. pipes) are there?
  • If you have an existing green roof spec, will it give you a roof that will last? (by no means are they always!)
  • What maintenance regime will be needed?

We’ll be clear about what’s involved at every stage (and try to demystify the process!)

What we’ll provide

  • A detailed quote showing every element of what we will do
  • A written summary of our agreement with you, your architect and contractor showing who needs to have done what before we commence so that we can keep to our quoted price (our ‘Essential Information’ guide)
  • Full, clear terms and conditions
  • A maintenance contract showing exactly what is needed to help your roof thrive and what it will cost

We’ll work with you and your team to integrate the green roof seamlessly into the build process

Our Commitment

  • Jargon-free communication with all parties from start to finish
  • Include you in our Cloud project management so you can see your project progress in real-time
  • Knowledgeable and enthusiastic staff in the office and on site
  • We’ll do what we say when we say we’ll do it (and if the weather intervenes we’ll let you know and plan around it)
  • Test our waterproofing so you and we know its right before we load the roof
  • Comply fully with all relevant health and safety regulations

Post Install

We’ll ensure your new roof thrives

  • Include you in our biodiversity monitoring programme (habitat roofs only)
  • Schedule your first full contract maintenance visit
  • Contact you for a testimonial (and video testimonial if you’re happy to speak on camera!)
