Lee is a real innovator and thought leader as well as being the purveyor of fantastic growing roof systems. He is also a natural researcher and academic, and it was Lee’s sense of enquiry that originally led to Lee and I working together to develop his ideas for importing an innovative Swiss Lightweight Meadow Roof system into the UK. Because of Lee’s expert knowledge and understanding my architecture practice has been able to create lightweight indigenous planted roofscapes on many of our buildings; roofs that reduce flash flooding and energy bills, whilst keeping our clients warm in the winter and cool in the summer, as well as reducing the ‘urban heat island effect’, and all this while enhancing biodiversity net gain.
